Local BTCC contender, Colin Turkington, has teamed up with Todds Leap as he aims to take this year’s British Touring Car Championship title. Currently in fourth position, and with a victory at Brands Hatch and a narrow second in the third race at Donington Park under his belt, he moves to Thruxton on 3rd May to keep the pressure on the slim three point lead.
Todds Leap, sponsors of the Ulster Rally, felt sponsorship of Turkington was a good fit for the adrenalin-fuelled brand. The largest outdoor activity centre in Ireland just launched a Room2Race, with the official opening carried out by the Portadown man.
Todds Leap joins other well-known brands on the BTCC circuit, including BMW, eBay Motors, Lafarge Tarmac and Tourism Ireland.
Benny O’Hanlon, Managing Director of Todds Leap explains the benefits to the company: “The BTCC attracts a wider UK audience and while our PR and marketing has seen visitor numbers from across Ireland increasing, we have been discussing ways to improve brand awareness outside of the island. Aligning with Colin, was a natural extension of our brand.”
Colin Turkington, fresh from a thrilling weekend at Donington commented: “It’s increasingly difficult to achieve and maintain sponsorship and I’d like to thank Ben and all the team at Todds Leap for getting behind me. We are both from Northern Ireland, in fact we are almost neighbours, and wearing and displaying a local brand makes me feel very proud when I go out to race. I’m looking forward to a great season and I intend to keep the pressure on the leaders. I’m determined that the support provided by Todds Leap will be rewarded with a number of podium finishes and hopefully the championship!”
